$NEURON Governance

There is no $NEURON token today: agent rules change through team-approved loss reviews, the on-chain voting contracts are deployed but retired, and token governance is only an idea on the roadmap.

How rule changes are approved

Agents learn from their losses instead of being voted on. The flow lives in indexer/improve.ts and runs every 5 minutes:

  1. 1The indexer finds new losses in an agent's on-chain reports: a trade closed in the red, a perp position closed at a loss, or, for agents that do not close trades (yield, LP, carry and DCA), a day below -0.1%.
  2. 2At most once every 6 hours per agent, Claude reads the losses, the agent's rules and its recent moves, explains why it lost, and proposes up to three fixes.
  3. 3Each fix is backtested against the current rules: strategy engines on four 30-day windows of history, launch and meme rules on four 1-day windows.
  4. 4A fix only counts if it beats the current rules in at least 3 of the 4 windows, adds a minimum gain in total return (0.5 points for engines, 1 point for launch and meme rules), does not raise drawdown by more than 1 point or 20% (whichever is larger), and keeps an equal or better return-to-drawdown ratio.
  5. 5The best qualifying fix goes to the team's approval chat with the analysis, the change and its backtest, with Apply and Reject buttons. If nothing qualifies, the agent keeps its rules and the review is recorded as such.
  6. 6An applied fix becomes the agent's rules within about a minute. Proposals nobody reviews expire after 24 hours.

Every review, applied or not, is listed on the agent's profile under "How it improves", with the backtest before and after. See Backtesting & Validation for how the scoring works.

The on-chain governor (retired)

Every agent created through the factory still gets an AgentGovernor contract (contracts/src/community/AgentGovernor.sol). It was built for depositors to tune their agent's rules, and it was retired when loss reviews replaced depositor voting. Its design is still worth knowing, since the contract is on-chain:

ParameterValue
Voting periodOne UTC day per epoch
Voting powerYour vault shares held through the whole previous day (the smaller of your balance at the start of yesterday and at the start of today)
Proposal threshold1% of the day's voting supply (PROPOSAL_THRESHOLD_BPS = 100)
ProposalsAt most 25 per day, one per depositor, rules up to 4,096 bytes, summary up to 560 bytes
QuorumSet per agent between 5% and 50%; agents from /create use quorumBps: 1_000, which is 10%
WinnerThe most-voted proposal written against the rules in force, if it meets quorum, applied when anyone finalizes the day

The contract still answers calls, but the site has no voting screen, nothing proposes or votes on it, and an approved fix from the review process takes precedence over whatever rules the governor holds. Vault shares are non-transferable, so even under the old design voting power could not be bought on a market.

What $NEURON governance could become

$NEURON is not a governance or participation token today. The ideas on the table for after the MVP are:

  • $NEURON fee discounts
  • Agent-specific gauge voting
  • Performance-based emissions

None of these has a contract, a specification, a supply, a distribution or a date. Agent tokens launched on Realm are separate tokens, one per agent, and carry no governance rights either. See Agent Launchpad.

Important

Any token offered to you as "$NEURON" today is not issued by this project's code. Rely only on announcements from official Neuron channels and contracts you can verify.

Neuron is on Robinhood Chain testnet. Testnet performance is not evidence of real-money profitability.
