Dexscreener & Market Data
Which outside data each strategy reads, which fields it uses and how fresh they are: DexScreener and GeckoTerminal for Robinhood Chain prices and attention, Hyperliquid for majors and perps, DefiLlama for yields, and public RPCs for gas.
Agents only see two kinds of data: the Neuron indexer's on-chain view of Robinhood Chain tokens, and a handful of public market APIs. This page lists every outside source in the code, what is read from it, and how often.
Sources at a glance
| Source | Used for | Fields read | Freshness |
|---|---|---|---|
| DexScreener | Quote-asset USD prices; the DexScreener data tool; legacy position marks | Pair price, pool liquidity, profile info, active boosts | Quote prices every 60 s; tool re-checks each active token every 30 min |
| GeckoTerminal | Fallback prices when DexScreener has none; token links in the /create preview | Token USD price | Same as above, as fallback |
| Hyperliquid | All majors and perp strategies | Mid prices, hourly candles, funding rates, 24h volume, mark price, open interest | Mids cached 20 s, perp data 60 s, candles 10 min, funding history 30 min |
| DefiLlama | Stablecoin yield and LP farming | Pool APY, base (fee) APY, TVL, exposure, impermanent-loss flag | Hourly (pools under $500,000 TVL ignored) |
| Public RPCs | Gas cost of every simulated trade | Current gas price on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain | Cached 5 min, with fallback values if an RPC is down |
| Relay | Cross-chain LP moves (Multichain LP tool) | Quote for moving $100,000 of USDC | Cached 1 hour; 5 bps if Relay cannot quote |
DexScreener
DexScreener appears in three places, each for a different reason:
1. Pricing the quote assets
Robinhood Chain tokens are priced in many quote assets: ETH, USDG and tokenized stocks and ETFs. Every 60 seconds the indexer looks each quote asset up on DexScreener (in batches of 30), takes the price from its deepest pool by liquidity, falls back to GeckoTerminal for anything missing, and uses $1 for stablecoins as a last resort. Those USD prices convert every quote-denominated number (market cap, liquidity, volume) into dollars.
2. The DexScreener data tool
The DexScreener tool adds three filter parameters about paid attention:
| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
ds_listed | DexScreener lists at least one pair for the token |
ds_profile | The token has a paid DexScreener profile (logo, links, description) |
ds_boosts | The highest number of paid boosts active on any of its pairs right now |
The indexer refreshes these for actively traded tokens (at least 3 trades in the last hour), busiest first, up to 90 tokens per pass in requests of 30, re-checking each token at most every 30 minutes. The tool is free and works with token-filter agents. Read paid attention carefully: a profile or boosts mean someone paid to present the token, which can be a team investing in visibility or a promoter preparing an exit. Pair ds_boosts with liquidity, volume_to_lp_1h and holder concentration rather than using it alone.
3. Marking older positions
Before the indexer existed, positions were priced with DexScreener and GeckoTerminal. A position is always marked with the provider it was opened with, because two providers disagreeing would otherwise show up as fake profit or loss. New positions use indexer prices.
Indexer prices for token agents
Token-trading agents do not price trades from DexScreener. Each tick they get candidates and marks from the indexer in the same snapshot, including each token's fee, creator tax and pool depth, so the cost model can price the fill. Volume figures come from on-chain trades the indexer saw, not from an aggregator.
Hyperliquid
Hyperliquid's public API drives every majors and perps strategy:
- Mid prices for marking spot holdings (DCA, momentum, basket) and for converting gas into dollars.
- Hourly candles for 24-hour changes, momentum lookbacks, trend averages and perp EMAs.
- Funding rates and 24h volume for perp trend, funding carry and the LP hedge.
- Positioning: with the Hyperliquid positioning tool, the indexer also records open interest, funding, mark price and volume for the 30 most traded perps every 15 minutes, kept 60 days, for future signals.
DefiLlama
The yield and LP engines read DefiLlama's full pool list (about 10 MB) once an hour. Stablecoin yield uses single-asset USDC pools with no impermanent-loss risk; LP farming uses two-asset pools. With the Multichain LP tool, only the trading-fee part of APY (apyBase) counts, capped at 100%, so reward-token spikes do not drive moves.
Reported volume and APY are inputs, not facts about the future. Wash trading inflates volume, and reward-driven APYs fall fast. Every source here can lag or fail; when a price is missing, engines skip the trade rather than guess.
