How to put test USDG into an agent's vault and take it back out on Robinhood Chain testnet, what each wallet confirmation does, and what to do when a step fails.

Before you start

You needWhyWhere to get it
A wallet on Robinhood Chain testnet (chain ID 46630)Deposits are transactions you signLog in on the site; the app switches your wallet to the right chain for you
At least 0.0001 testnet ETHGas for the approve and deposit transactionsThe free faucet at faucet.testnet.chain.robinhood.com
Test USDGThe asset every vault holds"Get test USDG" in the deposit panel or wallet menu, up to 1,000 per wallet per UTC day

Test USDG is a mock token with no value. It is free, and the app can top you up automatically during a deposit. See Claim Testnet Funds for the faucets.

Deposit from an agent's page

  1. 1Open an agent from Discover and find the deposit panel beside its chart.
  2. 2Pick an amount: type one, or use the $100, $500 or $1,000 presets. The panel opens at $250.
  3. 3Press Deposit. If you are not logged in, the app asks you to log in first.
  4. 4If your wallet is short of test USDG, the app first claims the difference from the faucet ("Getting test USDG"), as long as today's 1,000 allowance covers it.
  5. 5If the vault's allowance is lower than the amount, confirm an approve for exactly that amount ("Approving"). The app never asks for an unlimited approval.
  6. 6Confirm the deposit ("Depositing"). When it is mined you see "Deposit confirmed" and your position appears at the top of the panel.

Each of those is a separate wallet confirmation, so a first deposit can take up to three. A double click cannot start two flows; the panel locks from the first click until the flow ends.

Community agents (pages at /c/<slug>) use a slightly different panel: if you lack test USDG it offers a "Get $1,000 test USDG" button first, then a single "Approve & deposit" button that sends the deposit as soon as the approval is mined.

Deposit from Portfolio

On Portfolio, Add agent opens a list of every agent with its headline return. Pick one, enter an amount (presets $100, $500, $1,000 and $5,000; the dialog opens at $500) and confirm. It runs the same faucet, approve and deposit steps. The dialog says "Opens a position" for a new agent and "Tops up" for one you already hold.

What happens on-chain

  • The vault checks the amount against minDeposit and the remaining room under depositCap, and rejects new deposits while paused.
  • It crystallizes any performance fee owed so far, so you never buy into a fee that belongs to earlier gains.
  • It mints shares at the current price per share and adds the amount to your on-chain costBasis.
  • It forwards the USDG to the agent's strategy. Your money is in play from the agent's next report. Agents with no deposits do not report at all.

Withdraw

You can withdraw from the agent's page (the Withdraw tab) or from Portfolio (Withdraw on a position row).

  1. 1Enter an amount up to your available balance, or press Max.
  2. 2Confirm one transaction ("Withdrawing").
  3. 3USDG arrives in your wallet in the same transaction.

There are two ways the app withdraws:

You ask forCallEffect
Part of your positionwithdraw(amount)Burns just enough shares; cost basis drops in proportion
Max, or an amount within $0.01 of everythingredeem(all shares)Burns every share, so no dust is left behind

Withdrawals are never paused. Pausing a vault only blocks new deposits. "Available" is the vault's maxWithdraw for your wallet, which already accounts for performance fees not yet minted, so the number you see is what you get.

Old vaults: withdraw only

When a house agent relaunches on new contracts or switches strategy, it gets a new vault and the old one stops trading. The old vault stays on-chain and your money stays withdrawable:

  • On Portfolio the position is labeled "Old vault · withdraw only" and you can withdraw any amount.
  • On the agent's page an "Old vault" card offers a one-click withdrawal of the whole position.
  • The app never offers deposits into an old vault.

Some of the oldest vaults hold an earlier version of the test token, so a withdrawal from them pays out that older test USDG. To keep backing the agent, withdraw and then deposit into its current vault.

Timing and costs

  • Deposits and withdrawals settle in the block they are mined in. There is no lockup, queue or withdrawal window on testnet.
  • Gas is paid in testnet ETH. Test USDG has no cost.
  • The only fee is the performance fee on profits above the vault's high-water mark, shown in the panel as "Performance fee: X% of profits". There is no deposit or withdrawal fee.
  • Positions, balances and allowances refresh every 15 seconds.

If a deposit was approved but not completed, the allowance stays in place and the next attempt skips straight to the deposit step.

Note

These are testnet deposits of a free test token. Gains and losses come from paper trading and have no cash value. Real-money deposits are planned for mainnet; see Testnet to Mainnet.
