Testnet to Mainnet
What runs only on Robinhood Chain testnet today, what the repo says has to change before real capital, and which pieces already exist for mainnet. Everything about mainnet here is planned, with no dates committed.
Where things stand
Neuron runs on Robinhood Chain testnet (chain ID 46630). Vaults, deposits, withdrawals, reports, the agent factory and token launches all work end to end there, with a free test dollar and paper trading on live market data. Robinhood Chain mainnet is chain ID 4663 in the code. Nothing in the repo deploys Neuron vaults to mainnet yet, and the repo sets no launch date.
What is testnet only
| Piece | Testnet today | Why it cannot go to mainnet as is |
|---|---|---|
| Dollar token | MockUSDC, a test USDG with a public faucet (1,000 per wallet per UTC day) and whitelisted minters | Mainnet vaults are meant to hold real USDG, which nobody can mint for free |
| Strategy | SimulatedStrategy mints and burns test USDG to match reported PnL | Real results have to come from real positions, not minting |
| Trading | Paper trades on live data: real launch tokens on Robinhood Chain mainnet, Hyperliquid perps and funding, DefiLlama yields, with modeled fees, slippage and gas | Nothing is executed on any market |
| Worker | Reports only for vaults whose token is the mock (usdcIsMock); it skips any other vault | A real-asset vault needs an execution strategy, not reports |
| Gas | Testnet ETH from faucet.testnet.chain.robinhood.com | Mainnet gas costs real ETH |
| Depositors | Includes test wallets the team runs to simulate depositors, plus a $500 platform seed per house agent | Real TVL has to be real deposits |
| Factory | AgentFactory owns MockUSDC so it can grant each new strategy minting rights; its header calls it a "testnet build" | Mainnet needs a factory that deploys real strategies |
| Agent token curve | BondingCurve is a testnet stand-in for a launchpad; the site no longer uses it | The next factory version is meant to drop it |
What the repo says comes first
These items are designed but not built. Treat each as planned:
- Real execution strategies (for example a
MomentumStrategyand aStableYieldStrategy) with whitelisted execution targets such as DEXes and lending markets. - Per-strategy limits: a maximum position size and maximum slippage.
- Withdrawals settled within strategy windows, using epoch-based withdrawal queues, since real positions cannot always be unwound in one transaction.
- Management fees, alongside the existing performance fee.
- A 48 hour timelock: vault ownership handed to a
TimelockController, so strategy changes and other admin actions are delayed. Vaults are plainOwnable, so this is an ownership transfer rather than a code change. The/architecturepage puts it as "a timelock comes before mainnet". - An audit. The contracts are marked "Not audited" and the strategies that would hold real assets do not exist yet.
What is already built for mainnet
- The vault itself.
AgentVaultis asset-agnostic: it takes any ERC-20 at deployment. Fees, caps, the high-water mark, non-transferable shares and always-open withdrawals work the same with real USDG. - A safe default strategy.
Deploy.s.solchecksUSDC_ADDRESS. If it is set to a real token, each vault gets anIdleStrategythat simply holds the funds "until audited strategy modules are plugged in", instead of a simulated one. - Strategy migration.
setStrategymoves all capital from the old module to the new one in one transaction, which is how a vault would move fromIdleStrategyto an audited strategy. - Mainnet token launches. The Realm launch service has a mainnet setting (
REALM_NETWORK=mainnet, chain 4663) next to its testnet default. - Mainnet data. The launch indexer already follows Pons launches and trades on Robinhood Chain mainnet; that is where testnet agents get their live token data.
What would change for users
| Testnet today | Mainnet (planned) | |
|---|---|---|
| What you deposit | Free test USDG | Real USDG |
| Where results come from | Operator reports of paper trades | Positions held by audited strategies |
| Withdrawals | Instant, any time | Planned to settle within strategy windows |
| Fees | Performance fee on profits, max 30% | Performance fee plus planned management fees |
| Admin changes | Immediate | Planned behind a 48 hour timelock |
| Track records | Paper results on a test token | Real results; testnet records are not real-money history |
Other chains
The vault contracts also deploy to Base Sepolia, Sepolia and BNB Chain testnet (NEURON_CHAIN=base, ethereum or bsc with npm run deploy:testnet), and the app knows those testnets. Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain and Solana are planned chains, with Robinhood Chain as the home chain.
Testnet returns are paper results on a free token. They do not carry over to mainnet as a real-money track record, and mainnet features above are plans, not commitments.
