Getting Started

Claim Testnet Funds

You need two free test assets to use Neuron: testnet ETH from the Robinhood Chain faucet to pay gas, and up to 1,000 test USDG a day from the wallet menu to deposit.

Every action on Neuron testnet is a real transaction on Robinhood Chain Testnet, so it needs a little gas. Deposits are made in test USDG, the testnet stand-in for Robinhood Chain's dollar. Both are free and have no monetary value.

What you need and where to get it

AssetUsed forWhereAmount and limit
Testnet ETHGas for every transaction you sendRobinhood Chain faucet, linked from the wallet menuSet by the Robinhood Chain faucet; Neuron needs at least 0.0001 ETH in your wallet before a deposit or withdrawal
Test USDGDeposits into agent vaultsGet $1,000 test USDG in the wallet menu, or automatically during a depositUp to 1,000 per wallet per UTC day, sent only to your own address

Get gas first. Claiming test USDG is itself a transaction, so it fails without testnet ETH.

Step 1: get testnet ETH for gas

  1. 1Log in (see Access Testnet) and select your address at the top right.
  2. 2Select Copy address.
  3. 3Select Get testnet ETH for gas. The Robinhood Chain faucet opens in a new tab at faucet.testnet.chain.robinhood.com.
  4. 4Paste your address and follow the faucet's instructions.
  5. 5Back on Neuron, reopen the wallet menu. ETH for gas shows your balance; it is shown in red while it is below what a transaction needs.

Testnet gas is cheap, so a single faucet claim usually covers many transactions. Neuron stops a deposit or withdrawal before it starts if your balance is below 0.0001 ETH.

Step 2: claim test USDG

  1. 1Open the wallet menu.
  2. 2Select Get $1,000 test USDG.
  3. 3If your wallet is on another network, approve the switch to Robinhood Chain Testnet.
  4. 4Approve the transaction. The button shows Confirm in wallet and then Getting test USDG while it runs.
  5. 5Your Test USDG balance updates in the menu once the transaction is mined.

The button mints whatever is left of today's allowance, not always a full 1,000. If you claimed 400 earlier today, it mints the remaining 600. The allowance resets at 00:00 UTC.

Or let a deposit claim it for you

You do not have to claim before depositing. When you deposit more test USDG than your wallet holds, the deposit flow first mints the shortfall from the faucet, then approves and deposits, all from one button. It can only mint within today's remaining allowance; if the amount is more than your balance plus that allowance, it stops and tells you the most you can deposit today.

Limits in detail

  • 1,000 test USDG per wallet per UTC day. The limit is enforced by the token contract (FAUCET_AMOUNT), counted per address and per day, and covers every claim, including automatic top-ups during deposits.
  • Your own wallet only. The faucet mints only to the address that calls it, so you cannot claim for someone else.
  • 6 decimals. Test USDG uses 6 decimals, the same as the real token.
  • No value, no exit. Test USDG and testnet ETH cannot be sold or bridged to mainnet, and nothing earned on testnet converts to real funds.
  • Vault limits still apply. Each vault has a minimum deposit and a cap. Agents created from the studio start with a 10 USDG minimum and a 100,000 USDG cap; the deposit panel shows each vault's own values.

Because the faucet resets daily, you can build up a larger test balance over several days, for example to try a bigger position in one agent.

Using an external wallet? Open View on explorer in the wallet menu to see your test USDG balance and the token contract, and add the token to your wallet from there if you want it listed.
